Frequently Asked Questions

Our programs are designed for teens and young adults aged 14–21 who are interested in exploring and building careers in the skilled trades.

We currently provide pathways in multiple skilled trades including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, welding, plumbing, and construction. We are constantly adding industry partners and training capabilities and anticipate expanding into other critical skilled trades such as auto mechanics and manufacturing in the near future.

No prior experience is required. In fact, one of our primary goals is to introduce teens and young adults to career opportunities in skilled trades. Therefore, we welcome beginners and provide all the training, mentorship, and resources needed to succeed.

Students are matched with skilled trade professionals who provide one-on-one guidance, career advice, and personal development support.

William McAfee

William McAfee, MBA, LEED GA, is the President and COO of Sustainable Facilities Management Services, bringing over four decades of leadership in facilities management across the local, state, and federal government sectors, as well as the private sector, manufacturing, education, and institutional facilities. His expertise spans strategic planning, financial management, facilities support operations, custodial services, construction, energy management, and sustainability, reinforced by his LEED Green Associate credential from the U.S. Green Building Council. Mr. McAfee served as an Associate Vocational Administrator, overseeing a four-year vocational training program that combined on-the-job experience with formal vocational education. The program was designed to provide manufacturing production employees with the opportunity to develop into skilled tradesmen. Participants worked during the day and attended vocational classes in the evenings. The trades included were:
